90% of global trade is transported on the world’s oceans by crew members on container ships who remain invisible to most people, yet our supply chains depend on their services and sacrifice of being at sea for months on end. Seafarers are often overworked and lonely. We invite you, your business, school group or congregation to spread the joy of Christmas among those who will not be home with their loved ones. Our port chaplains deliver satchels filled with gifts. Mariners regardless of their faith or nationality will receive satchels filled with:
- One Sweatshirt – unhooded (size M-L-XL)
- Three Pairs of Crew Socks
- One T- Shirt (size M-L-XL)
- One Knitted Winter Cap (No pastels)
- A Granola Bar
- Christmas Card from YOU!
NOTE, EVERY SATCHEL WILL RECEIVE THE ABOVE LIST.
OUR GOAL IS TO FILL 50 SATCHELS

2023 Mission #1 Clothing Drive for Liberia a Success!
The items were delivered in person by mother and daughter Yvonne during their trip to Liberia in January 2024.
In June of 2023 our church donated its piano
to a church in Liberia
We want to start by thanking everyone who contributed to the clothing drive for Liberia. Our trip was very successful as so many people benefited from your generous donations. Bibles and some coats were donated to His Presence International Ministries INC., a church located in Monrovia. Books, school bags and school materials were all donated to a school, Kids Care Academy, also in Monrovia. Baby and children's clothing were donated to the Weala Community Clinic. Other beneficiaries were The Cross of Calvary Assemblies of God Church, as well as seven villages on the outskirts of Weala along the way to Beiken town which also benefited. All the Hymnals will be donated to a Lutheran church later.
Dearest Family in Christ Jesus,
We want to thank all who generously contributed to this year's clothing drive. I am still receiving items. We have been able to approximately send 10 boxes home. Items received include 110 NIV Bibles, 37 Good News Bibles, 53 Red and Blue Hymnals, 14 volumes of the large print LSB Hymnals, about 30 copies of the Living in Christ (a study of Lutheran Small Catechism), shoes, clothes (men and women), bedding, towels, pots and pans, children’s books, 50 small backpacks, about 3 dozen notebooks, pencils, three games, etc.
I received a check for $85 for shipping and also received a call from another family who's sending money for shipping.
I am hoping and praying that this generosity will continue. I intend to travel to Liberia by the end of the year at which time distribution will be made. Videos and pictures will be presented upon my return. Thank you, St. John’s family.
Regards,
Yvonne Clinton
